The big brown coat is back!

Winter has finally started to set in here in Brisbane, and this week has been chilly enough on the way to and from work for me to start wearing my Big Brown Coat again.

I bought the coat about this time last year and I will admit that it was a bit of an impulse buy at the time - I was buying new clothes at Colorado and the sales girl got me to try it on at the same time. While my wallet said "no", my heart said "yes" and my life was forever changed.

It's maybe half a size too big for me - especially seeing as I've slimmed down a fraction in the last few months - but I think that's part of why I like it so much. It kind of swallows me up, and keeps me toasty warm. Not that Brisbane's winters are by any means cold.

But it did serve me well in the States last year during such adventures as watching ice hockey and checking out the Grand Canyon.

So I'm going to be making the most of Brisbane's "winter" and wearing my coat every chance I get. :)

(also, when I wear the coat I feel a bit like Silent Bob, aka Kevin Smith, whose filmmaking talents I admire and who I secretly aspire to be)

Check it out - the 'Canes won the Stanley Cup! Doesn't change the fact that you saw them on a night when they got walloped, but at least you can say you saw the NHL champs this season! :-)
